SECUDRIVE Device Control is a USB port protection program that monitors the actions by a user at the USB port. This product will help provide small and medium businesses with USB port security. The security administrator will have an easy to use tool that helps him administer USB flash drives and other devices such as IEEE 1394, Bluetooth, CD/ DVD-RW, and Serial/ Parallel/ IrDA ports. The tool will allow registered USB flash drives to work properly. Through this program, the PC can be protected from harmful viruses that are transmitted through USB flash drives. The interface lets the administrator to lock out all devices in a given category by ticking specific checkboxes. At the same time, it is possible to register a device and set the security boundaries as read-only or read/write. Thus it is possible to block a type of device as a whole, yet allow some that are registered.
The log feature allows the administrator to view a detailed history log on the current connection status of the USB flash drives and other devices. The operations performed on files while the USB flash drive was connected to the PC is recorded. The interface is quite intuitive and just about anybody should be able to get productive with it in short time. There’s a list of registered devices along with add, remove and edit facilities. This is a very good product. If you are looking for a similar solution, this is a good candidate for a trial in your exact set up.
